Much of my coaching centers around helping others to stand in their truth and demonstrate a love of oneself. Why is it so hard for us to do this? Why do we serve others so easily yet when it comes to walking our path to the expression of our highest self we struggle to let go of the shackles that keep us trapped in our lives?
I find it helpful to think about the advice you would give a loved one when you can’t find the confidence and security you need to make these difficult choices for yourself. I remember when I was contemplating my divorce and I did an exercise in which I imagined my daughter coming to me with the same dilemma. It then became crystal clear what actions I needed to take. The inner critic that chimes in relentlessly with thoughts of us not being worthy to stand up for ourselves usually wins. Next time you hear that voice, take a stand and don’t listen. Search to find that place in yourself that exists outside of your head and knows what is best for you. Guard your life like you would for a loved one and celebrate the courage to do this. And if you need a little help, I’m always here to guide and empower you until you can do this on your own. 🙂
