Both women are guests next Thursday, March 20, 2014, during Deanne DeMarcoâs weekly hour-long program Todayâs Inspiring Women on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Radio network.
Lucinda Yates is an inspirational entrepreneur. Once homeless and destitute her breakthrough came when she noticed some colorful mat boards in a frame shop trashcan. She pulled the discarded boards out of the garbage and started cutting them into elementary shapes, eventually creating a pin that looked like a house. Yates sold these pins to a local homeless shelter for $6, which they in turn sold for $10 to raise funds for the shelter. It is no surprise that she founded a company built on helping non-profits. Lucinda went from surviving homelessness with her daughter into a multi-million dollar company that started by turning trash into one of a kind fashion jewelry.
Lucinda has defied typical business rules for growing a multi-million dollar company. For example every one of the 5 million products she has created and sold are one of a kind designs. No two pins are alike!
The word âextraordinaryâ doesnât begin to cover Lucinda Yates inspiring journey.
Deanne DeMarco, who has twenty successful years as a business and executive coach and keynote speaker, said, âLucinda says that her life as a homeless person was traumatic, even life threatening⦠yet she openly acknowledges that her life wouldnât be what it is today had she never been homeless in the first place. Yates journey has given her a positive, even fearless attitude for success. Iâm thrilled Lucinda will be sharing her inspirational journey and her success lessons with my audience.â
Dr. Bev Smallwood is Deanneâs second guest. Bev will discuss the choices people make that can lead them down the road to success. She will specifically focus on what to do during times of adversity and hardship. She will provide a road map and specific actionable tips on the specific choices people need to make to take them on a journey of recovery and personal and professional success. Dr. Smallwood wrote the book This Wasnât Supposed to Happen to Me: 10 Make-or-Break Choices When Life Steals Your Dreams and Rocks Your World. Â
DeMarco said, âI will be asking Bev about the 10 key choices that people need to make to either move them along the destructive road toward more emotional pain â or take them on the journey to greater strength, resilience and peace. I am very excited to have these two dynamic women on the show.â
