Kleyne-player-wideThe very best and healthiest water for drinking, according to University of Washington Water Researcher Gerald Pollack, PhD, is natural water that is either free-flowing or comes from a deep spring, and has a high mineral content. Pollack’s reason for singling out these waters, based on his latest discoveries regarding the structure and behavior of water, will surprise many people.

Pollack made the statement during a guest appearance on the Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water syndicated radio show on Voice America, while being interviewed by Sharon Kleyne on the live show of February 17, 2014.

The globally syndicated Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water® radio show, with host Sharon Kleyne, is heard on VoiceAmerica and Apple iTunes. Kleyne is also Founder of Bio-Logic Aqua Research, a water and health research and product development center. Natures Tears® EyeMist®, a 100% pure water mist, is the Research Center’s global signature product for dry eyes.

Gerald Pollack, PhD, is a Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Washington. Dr. Pollack’s area of specialty is the physical make-up of water, and water’s utilization by the human body. His latest book is The Fourth Phase of Water (Ebner & Sons, 2013).

Dr. Pollack is best known as the discoverer of “fourth phase water” or “structured water,” in addition to water’s solid, liquid and vapor phases. The fourth phase is midway between ice and liquid in which there is organized molecule structure but the water remains warm and liquid. The very thin layer of water that clings to the surfaces of other substances is usually structured water. Dr. Pollack theorizes that the water inside our body cells is also mostly structured water.

Because fourth phase water appears to be essential to cell functioning, Dr. Pollack believes that the more fourth phase water that is naturally contained in the water that humans drink each day, the more beneficial that water will be. By that standard, the “best” waters for maintaining health and avoiding dehydration are natural, fresh waters with a fairly high mineral content. Rain water and deep spring water, according to Pollack, are excellent sources of fourth phase water.

Melted glacial ice, says Pollack, is also an outstanding source of fourth phase water. Not only has glacial melt water recently passed thru the fourth phase, it also contains a high percentage of finely pulverized rock

Tap, bottled and well water, artificially flavored or fortified water, purified water, distilled water, and the water in liquids such as coffee, tea, milk, soft drinks and juice, are considered by Dr. Pollack as not quite as good as deep spring water, rain water and natural mineral water.

Kleyne cautions that even though spring or creek water may be high in healthy minerals and fourth phase water, water from any unfamiliar or untested source should be considered unsafe. Well water is not considered free-flowing and should be regularly tested for contamination.

Dr. Pollack agreed with Sharon Kleyne that the best way to maintain health and avoid dehydration is to drink eight to ten glasses of pure fresh water each day, in addition to all other liquid intake.
